I pick the questions and then type the answers for all 3. But for some reason when I get to where it has me do 3 security questions I do them. Ok so now I tried doing the new user file and got to Where it has me do the new passwords. Yes I disabled the startup per the instructions and the pictures which BTW really help! And S mode is gone so longer an issue.

Windows S mode is really meant for locking down the system to the point it is very restrictive to the user as to what apps they can even install/use and also tighten up some of the system settings/access. You didn't say anything about changing it back to Windows Home Edition. If you are still having the issue or unable to do the process, and still had the Windows S mode that would be first thing I change. Hold down WinKey and press i key to open the new Settings panel then follow the step in the screenshot to create a new local user account then log out of the current user profile and then logon to the new user profile to test things out.

Have you disabled startup entries as I mentioned?Īlso, see if you can create another user profile, a local user profile and make sure it is an Administrator account for troubleshooting purpose otherwise, it might actually be much wiser and safer for novice users to use a non-Administrator account for their daily computer (this will prevent a malware to infect the entire machine and likely to be contained within that user profile instead).

It is going towards a fresh install of Windows as I initially stated but, feel free to try quicker, easier things first.
