Terrain mode is used for manipulation of terrain. Camera mode is default and is the mode in which we navigate the level and select objects. To the left of the viewports we find the mode menu. Next, we can view the scene lit or unlit. There are many different display modes available, the first being “wireframe”, which allows us to see the polygons in our scene without interference from textures or lighting. Orthographic viewports are useful for placing objects correctly in a scene. The P indicates that we are in Perspective view, but clicking it will change between orthographic viewports. Kismet is a tool that allows us to create visual scripting rather than working in code like some other engines, and Matinee is used to create in-game cinematic sequences. Next are the buttons to open Kismet and Matinee. The content browser is where we manage the content in our levels, this is everything from objects to light maps.
